Venezuela and Colombia restore diplomatic relations

Venezuela and Colombia announced the full restoration of diplomatic relations on Sunday, three years after they were severed, with the formation of a new left-wing government in Bogota.

"Venezuelan relations should never have been severed. We are brothers and an imaginary line cannot separate us," the new Colombian ambassador, Armando Benedetti, announced his arrival in Caracas via Twitter.
