WHO says risk of cholera spread in Syria is “very high”
The World Health Organization issued a warning on Tuesday that the risk of cholera spreading in Syria is "very high," after several cases were reported last weekend in many governorates for the first time since 2009.
The Kurdish Autonomous Administration reported on Saturday that it had recorded three deaths and "many cases" in its areas of control in Raqqa (north) and the western countryside of Deir el-Zor.
This comes as the Syrian Ministry of Health has registered the deaths of two people as well as 26 confirmed cases, the majority of them in Aleppo Governorate (east).
