Le Parisien features Lebanese Jean-Marc Ayoubi for his medical achievements

Last weekend, the French daily newspaper, Le Parisien, highlighted the achievement of the Lebanese professor Jean-Marc Ayoubi, who succeeded in repairing "the injustice of infertility" with women born with Mayer-Rokitansky-Küster-Hauser (MRKH). This malformation affects at least one in 4,500 women in the world.

Jean-Marc Ayoubi is a Professor at the Simone Veil Health Sciences UFR of the University of Versailles Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines, and head of the Obstetric Gynecology and Reproductive Medicine department at Foch Hospital in France.

He is renowned for performing the first French uterus transplantation after leading the team that performed the "miracle" in France in 2019, which was the origin of the first French birth after uterine transplantation, after decades of challenging work.

A year and a half later, on February 12, 2021, the birth of the "miracle child," Misha, as he likes to call her, was announced: "The baby girl who was born through a womb given by her grandmother, to her daughter Deborah (Misha's mother) who was born with MRKH syndrome."

The Lebanese-French doctor is continuing to raise the name of Lebanon abroad, especially in France, where he will forever be known as someone who made the impossible possible by giving hope for all women to produce new life.
