Leading Lebanese textile factory Domtex closes its doors after 58 years
During the 1960s, Lebanon witnessed a boom in its cultural scene. Renowned for being the country's "golden age," Beirut became a hub of banking, commerce, fashion, and tourism, with many names profoundly influencing Beirut's heritage during that time.

However, the ongoing economic crisis has deeply affected many local businesses that have strived for years to create a name for themselves and inspire how people around the world perceive Lebanon.

After 58 years on Hamra street, the iconic Domtex building, which hosted many of the top brands, including Toyland, will see the closing of the leading family textile factory, Domtex Sal, at the end of 2022.

First opened in the 1960s, Domtex has grown to the extent that it has become one of the region's finest labels in household textiles.

Since the very beginning, the factory started to produce materials using high-standard techniques, offering their vast clientele various textile products, including bedroom and bathroom textiles, embroideries, abayas, and more, to create the latest designs and creations.
