Canada welcomes Rabat meeting’s decisions

Canada welcomed on Thursday the Arab foreign ministers’ decision to suspend Syria’s membership from the Arab League and their threat to impose economic sanctions on Damascus should it fail to comply with the 3-day delay.
Arab League foreign ministers meeting in Rabat on Wednesday gave the Syrian government three days to agree to end its crackdown on protesters and allow in teams of observers.

Canadian Foreign Minister John Bird announced that “Syria’s neighbors” confirmed that they will not show leniency towards what he described as “disgraceful acts of the Assad regime.”

Bird stressed that “the terror attack launched by the regime against its people should stop.”
