3 injured Syrian nationals hospitalized in Israel

A medical source reported Tuesday that three Syrian nationals, including an 8-year-old child, were transferred to an Israeli hospital for treatment after they were wounded in the fighting taking place in the war-torn country.

"An injured 8-year-old girl and her 48-year-old mother were hospitalized yesterday night for fractures to their arms and legs from shrapnel," said a spokesman for Ziv hospital, which is located north of the Sea of Galilee.

Over 44 Syrians were hospitalized at Ziv since the onset of the Syrian war, nine of whom are currently at the hospital, including the girl admitted late Monday, he added.

The girl and her mother told hospital staff that an explosion detonated near their residence in Syria, adding that they were rushed to a field hospital there before being brought into Israel for more urgent treatment, the spokesperson said.
