Italy declares day of mourning over bus crash tragedy

Italy declared a national day of mourning on Tuesday after 38 people were killed in a bus crash in Avellino.

Public institutions and shops closed their doors for several hours, while a number of funerals will take place in the city of Pozzuoli, near Naples, in the presence of the Italian Prime Minister Enrico Letta.

10 people remain in the hospital following the tragedy, in which the bus carrying pilgrims plunged 100 feet down a ravine from a motorway flyover.
