Scuba divers given chance to explore living history

Chuuk Laggon was the Japanese main base in World War II. In 1994, American forces carried out an attack in which more than 60 warships sank to the floor of the lagoon.

Throughout the attack, more than 250 Japanese aircrafts were destroyed - without having even had the chance to take off since they only had just arrived from Japan.

Years after the attack, the site which was formally known as Truk Lagoon, has become a place for scuba divers to explore a piece of living history.
