Al-Qaeda chief Zawahiri orders the disbanding of the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria

Al-Qaeda chief Ayman al-Zawahiri has ordered the disbanding of the al-Qaeda-affiliated Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS), in an audio message aired on Al-Jazeera Friday.

“Al-Nusra Front is the only branch for al-Qaeda in Syria,” Zawahiri said.
