US experts find 5,000 missiles in Libya

The U.S. State Department announced that U.S. experts sent to Libya to recover the former regime’s weapons, counted around 5,000 surface-to-air missiles.        

The U.S. State Department Deputy Spokesman Mark Toner said that the exact number is difficult to say, for the NATO destroyed a number of inventories by air strikes this year.        

Toner added that the experts are trying to estimate how many missiles are still in Libya and are looking into ways to recover and destroy them.
