Nepalese schoolgirl kills herself after Brazil's defeat
A Nepalese girl, identified as 15-year-old Pragya Thapa committed suicide after her favorite team Brazil was thrashed by Germany in the World Cup semi-final game on Tuesday, police reported.

According to a police report, the teenager was depressed and hanged herself in her village of Bharaul, east of the capital Kathmandu, where she lived with her mother and grandparents, while her father works abroad.

The preliminary investigations suggested that “the girl took an extreme measure by hanging herself in her own room, after some of her school friends started teasing her for supporting Brazil.”

Brazil were hammered 7-1 against Germany in the semi-final at Belo Horizonte on Tuesday sparking widespread shock among football fans in the World Cup host nation.
