Chinese government sends medical supplies to Syria
Some 30 tons of humanitarian medical supplies sent by the Chinese government for Syria's Red Crescent arrived at the capital city of Damascus Thursday night.

According to the list provided by the Red Crescent, this batch of medical supplies mainly include bandage, gauze, blood transfusion apparatuses and anti-inflammatory drugs, all in desperate need for the residents living amid the long-lasting civil war.

Red Crescent officials at the airport said that many pharmaceutical factories have been destroyed during the civil war, leaving a rising number of injured residents to fall short of medical treatment.

Statistics from the UN showed that more than 160,000 people have been killed in the Syrian crisis since 2011, and more than 9 million people were in desperate need of help.
