'Jihadi Hunter' says Islamic State group will unleash war on Europe
A decorated army veteran renowned for rescuing youngsters from the Islamic State militant group has warned that the terrorist organization is placing 'sleeper cells' in European states including the United Kingdom.

Dimitri Bontinck, dubbed the 'Jihadi Hunter', spoke out as he braced for supporting his own teenage son in a criminal trial after bringing him home from war-torn Syria.

This comes as Home Secretary Theresa May and senior British police chiefs said a terrorist atrocity involving an IS-style beheading or bomb attack on civilians is currently 'almost inevitable'.

"It's not the kids who are the principal danger – it's the chiefs whom you never see in the videos," 41-year-old Mr Bontinck said, in reference to their campaign of atrocities implemented abroad.

"The mature men running this organization are deeply sinister, and extremely well-funded, and they have European countries such as Britain, France and Belgium in their sights," Bontinck noted.

"I've been told by very influential sources that they have sleeper cells over here, and are preparing to unleash their war in Europe," he added.

Bontinck, an Antwerp-based Belgian national, has completed 7 missions to Syria to help rescue his 19-year-old son, Jejoen, alongside other youths in the same position.
