Islamic group claims responsibility for attack on US consulate
A Libyan Islamic group under the name of “Captive Omar Abdel-Rahman’s Brigades” claimed responsibility for the bomb attack that took place last week on the US consulate.  

According to Islamic internet sources, the Islamic group stated that the attack was in retaliation for the attempted assassination of Sheikh Abou Yehya Al-Leebi      

Abou Yehya Al-Leebi is considered one of the most prominent Al-Qaeda figures and has made several appearances in Al-Qaeda videos in the past years. Starting March 2011, he rallied Libyans to fight against then leader Moammar Kaddafi.
