Several dead in attacks on Pakistani-Afghan border
Five soldiers were killed on Monday alongside Pakistan’s North Western border with Afghanistan as insurgents launched attacks according to local security sources. Among the dead were eleven terrorists.          

In April 2009, the Pakistani Army deployed 30,000 military personnel to fight off Taliban terrorists belonging to the Fadl Allah insurgency whom had claimed responsibility for several terror attacks dating as far back as 2007.                

By July 2009, the army declared its readiness to take over the Swat Valley, stating that insurgents have long since fled the region.                          

Since 2001, Pakistan has been deemed the leading name in the fight against terrorism since Al-Qaeda declared the Pakistani-Afghan borders as its stronghold.
