Afghanistan passes death sentence on soldier for killing four French military men

Afghanistan’s Defense Ministry announced on Monday that the death sentence has been passed on the Afghan soldier who killed four French military personnel on January 20 inside a military base in Kapisa north-west of Kabul.

The date of the execution has not yet been set.

The death of the four soldiers propelled then French President Nicholas Sarkozy to take the decision to withdraw French troops prior to one year from the due date.
