The types of chemical weapons owned by the Syrian army
According to the Institute of Strategic Researches in Paris, Syria has been developing its chemical arsenal since the 1970s, considering that chemical weapons would be a deterrent, equivalent to Israel's nuclear program.

French specialist in chemical weaponry, Olivier Lepick, confirmed that the Syrians have managed to fuse phosphorus and carbon to make one of the most poisonous chemical weapons. "Syrians also have nerve gas and Sarin gas that they utilize in the manufacturing of bombs and missiles with a range that can reach Israel," he added.

Furthermore, the Syrian army reportedly has mustard gas compounds used in the manufacture of bombs and rockets for launchers.

Poisonous gases based on phosphorus are the most lethal as a very small quantity can cause immediate death.

The Syrian army distributed these large stocks to different military bases across Syria. Sources say that U.S. satellites are monitoring these stocks over the clock with high accuracy.
