Fierce battle rages on in Bani Walid
Fierce battles continued in Bani Walid south-east of Tripoli, one of the last strongholds of embattled Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi after rebels stormed into the city on Monday morning, AFP reported.

Head of negotiations for the Libyan rebels Abdullah Kneichel told the French news agency that the battles in Bani Walid are still raging, adding that the situation will stabilize in the coming days.

Kneichel stressed that there are ongoing talks with Gaddafi’s troops to facilitate evacuation of civilians from the embattled city, saying that a number of troops have already turned themselves in.

Kneichel reported that Saif al-Islam Gaddafi was seen in Bani Walid which implies that his father, Muammar Gaddafi, might also be there.

Officials at the medical center noted that no casualties were reported.
