Islamist Chief Ghannouchi calls for a tighter security grip on Salafi groups
Head of the Islamic Nahda Movement Rached Ghannouchi called on Friday for  tightening security grip on Jihadist Salafist movements whom on  Friday attacked the headquarters of the U.S. embassy in the Tunisian capital to protest the publication of the US produced anti-Islam  Youtube film “Innocence of Muslims.

"Each time that parties or groups overstep our freedoms in a flagrant manner, we have to be tough, clamp down and insist on public order," Ghannouchi told AFP in an interview.

Ghannouchi stressed on the volatility of such groups saying that they do not only pose a threat to the “nahda” but to the country as a whole and must be faced within the framework of the law.
