Lagarde: International community starts to deal with severe crisis

IMF chief Christine Lagarde said that the international community has started to deal with the severity of the crisis that is posing a serious threat to the world economy.

“Prior to last week’s 2011 IMF-World Bank Annual Meetings held in Washington, I warned against the new dangerous phase that the world economy is entering”, Lagarde said, calling for a bold collective action.

Lagarde added that the IMF’s meetings resulted in a consensus on a common diagnosis for problems.
