17 Gaddafi loyalists killed in Bani Walid
Council (NTC) began to rebuild their forces in the desert enclave of Bani Walid on Monday. Ambulances and helicopters were in the area along with vehicles equipped with anti-aircraft artillery.  

NTC fighters in Tinenay, approximately 25 kilometers south of Bani Walid, said residents of the area should feel safe now that they have fortified their positions.  

"We have an announcement for everyone who has fled Bani Walid to come back because the area of Tinenay is very safe and also the northern area is 100 percent safe and there is no danger at all," said NTC fighter Ahmed al-Jilik. 

Another fighter, Mossin al-Sibai, said people had been arriving in the area over the last few days after fleeing their homes.  

Along with Muammar Gaddafi's hometown of Sirte, Bani Walid is one of the last redoubts of Gaddafi loyalists in the country he ruled alone for 42 years.
