Winter storm Olga leaves Jordan in chaos

Jordan’s General Security announced that the snowstorm that affected the Kingdom led to the shutdown of most roads as Jordanian monarch ordered the armed forces to support the efforts of the government in opening the roads and rescuing trapped citizens.          

The General Security Directorate said that most of the roads closed in the country’s capital Amman due to the heavy accumulation of snow.            

According to a statement issued by the royal Court, King Abdullah II called on the armed forces and security services to support the efforts of local provinces.              
The government then announced a total closure of all governmental and public institutions on Thursday due to the unfavorable weather conditions.
