IAEA aims for Iran nuclear framework agreement

               
A senior U.N. nuclear watchdog official said on Tuesday he was aiming for an agreement with Iran this week on a framework deal enabling his inspectors to investigate suspected nuclear bomb research.
   
Herman Nackaerts, deputy director general of the International Atomic Energy Agency, was speaking at Vienna airport before he and other IAEA officials departed for talks with Iranian officials on Wednesday in Iran.
  
"We are aiming to finalise the structured approach to the possible military dimension," he told reporters, adding that he hoped to be allowed to visit the Parchin military site.

This after the Iranian foreign Ministry announced that a date has been agreed upon between the Islamic Republic and the group of 5+1 to resume talks pertaining to the nuclear file, adding that the place remains unknown.             

Foreign Ministry spokesman Ramin Mehmanparast said that Iran's senior nuclear negotiator Said Jalili's assistant Ali Bagheri and Helga Schmid, the deputy to European Union foreign policy chief Catherine Ashton, agreed on a date for the talks on Monday evening via telephone adding that the location of the meeting has yet to be set.
