Severe clashes in Alexandria mark the two-year anniversary of the uprising

Egypt's Alexandria witnessed on Monday severe clashes between demonstrators and security forces leading to the death of 5 persons and the injury of dozens.      

This was the second day of such clashes ahead of the two-year anniversary of Egypt's uprising that toppled longtime ruler Hosni Mubarak.                    

In this context, protesters stormed the building of Alexandria Court of First Instance where the hearing of President Mubarak was held.                     

Opposition parties called for a gathering in the Tahrir Square next Friday to revolt against what they called "attempts to move away from the goals of the revolution".                   

It is worth noting that President Mohammad Morsi, alongside with the Muslim Brotherhood, are facing a new challenge in light of the continuous security incidents.             

Around 900 protesters died in the revolt that began January 25, 2011, with some 300 killed in Alexandria alone.
