Japan PM says to amend post-war constitution

Japan's hawkish Prime Minister Shinzo Abe told the parliament on Thursday that he intends to change the country's post-World War II constitution, lowering the bar for further amendments.

Abe has previously stated that he wishes to study the possibility of altering the article that barred the Japanese Army from taking aggressive action.

US occupying forces imposed the constitution in the aftermath of World War II.
