Blinken urges Israel to do more to protect civilians in southern Gaza

A senior official at the US State Department said that Secretary of State Antony Blinken spoke by phone with Israeli Strategic Affairs Minister Ron Dermer on Thursday and informed him that Israel needs to exert more effort to protect civilians in its attacks on the southern Gaza Strip.

Blinken also urged Dermer to allow more humanitarian aid into Gaza while welcoming Israel's decision to permit additional fuel into the densely populated region.
