Tunisia's Ennahda reiterates rejection of technocratic cabinet

Tunisia's ruling party Ennahda reiterated on Monday its objection to the decision of the movement’s Secretary General, Prime Minister Hamadi Jebali to form a cabinet of technocrats to end the country’s crisis.

The Shura council of the Ennahda Movement declared that the technocratic cabinet initiative does not address the requirements of the current situation.

In this regard, the council issued a statement, whereby it stressed that the cabinet must exert national expertise to reach the goals of the revolution according to a political program aimed at completing the democratic transition, through finalizing the new Constitution and holding democratic elections.

However, Jebali will be continuing the discussions which he started on Friday with Tunisia’s political parties regarding the formation of a cabinet of technocrats.
