Tunisia's PM Larayedh to take charge of power

                              
Tunisia's outgoing PM is set to hand power on Thursday to the newly elected PM Ali Larayedh who is tasked to put an end to the political and economic crisis in the country.                           

Larayedh won during Wednesday's parliamentary session, approval for his new government by receiving 139 votes, 30 more than needed.                         

The election came weeks after former PM Jebali quit following his failure to form a new government.                        

Tunisia is currently struggling to revive its economy and face the social burdens two years after the rise of the revolution that toppled ex-President Zine El Abidine Ben Ali.                        

The death on Wednesday of Adel Khazri, 27, after he set himself on fire, has revived the memories still fresh of Mohamed Bouazizi, another street vendor whose self-immolation in December 2011 in protest of his living conditions sparked the Tunisian uprising.                         

Larayedh has promised to resolve the country's crisis this year, by ensuring the adoption of a new constitution and organizing elections, while recovering the economy and establishing security.                                 

In a brief interview with AFP on Wednesday, Larayedh said the principle threats facing Tunisia were "terrorism" and social unrest.
