European Union expresses concern following Lebanese cabinet resignation

The European Union (EU) expressed on Saturday its concern regarding the resignation of the Lebanese Government chaired by Prime Minister Najib Mikati.

On the sidelines of a Ministerial meeting held in Ireland’s Dublin, the EU foreign policy chief Catherine Ashton said that the lack of consensus among political factions in the Cabinet and the Parliament led to a deadlock in regards to the elections.
