Ankara forms “wise men” committee to facilitate peace process with PKK

Deputy Turkish Prime Minister Bulent Arinc announced on Wednesday the formation of the “wise men” commission tasked with facilitating the peace process with the Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK).

Arinc said that the committee is made up of well-known and respected persons in Turkey; artists, politicians, businessmen, leaders, or even specialists in non-governmental organizations or intellectual centers.

In this context, Turkish PM Recep Tayyip Erdogan said that he will be meeting on Thursday with the commission’s members in Istanbul to discuss their mission regarding the peace process.
