China warns economy still facing 'difficulties and challenges'

Chinese officials warned Friday that the country's economy was still facing "difficulties and challenges" as data showed it saw its lowest growth in decades last year.

"The adverse effects brought by the external environment are increasing, the domestic demands are insufficient, some enterprises have difficulties in production and operation, and the economy is still facing difficulties and challenges," the National Bureau of Statistics said.
