India building collapse kills at least 29
            
Indian officials said on Friday that at least 29 people have died and dozens more were injured after a building under construction collapsed near the Indian city of Mumbai.   
         
Many others are feared dead under the seven-story building, Indian media reports said quoting officials.  
                
Police said the building was constructed illegally and four floors were already occupied, adding that at least nine children were among the dead.          

Rescue efforts continued through the night, while the disaster management officials said that 57 people were injured, most of them construction workers who were staying in the building.                      

Building collapses are common in India. Poor construction material and practices are often blamed.
                        
Last September at least six people were killed when a building collapsed in Pune city in Maharashtra.
