Roadside bomb hits bus in Afghanistan, kills 9

Afghan officials said on Monday that a roadside bomb in Afghanistan exploded under a bus on killing nine people and wounding at least 22.          

Attaullah Khogyani, the governor’s spokesman in Wardak province, southwest of Kabul, told AFP that at around 8 am, an improvised explosive devise hit a bus.              
“At least 22 people were wounded and nine others, including a woman died,” he said.        

Khogyani said Taliban militants who have been fighting for 11 years against the US-backed Kabul government were behind the attack.
