Israel demolishes illegal settler outpost
          
A police spokeswoman said Friday that Israeli security forces demolished two structures erected by Jewish settlers in the occupied West Bank.         

The makeshift structures of the Oz Zion outpost near the central city of Ramallah were leveled without any incidents reported, Agence France Presse said.              

In the past month, security forces have dismantled several structures to much of the settlers’ dismay.             

In December a violent confrontation occurred when more than 200 settlers cast stones at security forces who were dismantling structure put up at Oz Zion, leaving 5 border policemen wounded.          

Israel deems settlement outposts built without government approval to be illegal and often sends security personnel to demolish them.                

The international community considers all settlements built in the West Bank -- including annexed Arab east Jerusalem -- to be illegal.
