Italian president: Parliament will dissolve if government is not formed

Italian President Giorgio Napolitano said that if a new government is not formed shortly, the Parliament will be dissolved and new elections will be conducted. Napolitano also added that these elections will follow the adoption of a new financial law and the resignation of PM Silvio Berlusconi.

“There is no doubt that Berlusconi will resign as soon as a new financial law will be passed in the few upcoming days”, Napolitano said.
