Minister Azzi to LBCI: Lebanese University issue must be totally separated from politics

Minister of Labor Sejaan Azzi said on Saturday that there is no personal dispute with Minister of Education Elias Bou Saab, calling on the Lebanese leaders to totally separate the Lebanese University issue from politics.

Azzi's comments were made during a phone call with Nharkom Said TV show in which he noted that the manner in which Minister Bou Saab managed the Lebanese University file was "very unsuccessful."

LU contract professors have been on a continuous sit-in, calling for permanent tenure at the university.

The professors said their movement will not end unless the Parliament meets their demands, stressing that they will be taking escalatory measures.
