Geagea: Syrian regime's collapse certain

The head of the Lebanese Forces Party confirmed on Friday that the Syrian regime's collapse is certain as the Syrian army will fail to conclude the situation militarily.

Geagea expected a new scenario in Syria, different from the other Arab revolutions, never ruling out the regress in the Syrian situation in witness of how the regime is dealing with the popular riots.

"After the collapse of President Bashar Al-Assad's regime, a different political panel will be formed, whereby the March 14 forces presence will expand and the Hezbollah camp's volume will shrink," he noted.

As for the February 14 commemoration ceremony, Geagea said it will be held in the absence of former Premier Saad Hariri, for obvious medical reasons.

"The opposition is now capable of going to the streets and toppling the government, but this is not the plan for the current stage," the LF leader said, reiterating his call for forming a government of technocrats to address the people's issues.
