Security forces seize large amounts of expired food products and meat in Achrafieh depot

The Internal Security Forces raided on Wednesday a warehouse in the area of Syoufi in Ashrafieh where they seized large quantities of expired food products and meat.

A statement issued by the ISF said that “the Beirut Third Regional Brigade and the Beirut Investigation Department received information about expired food products at a depot in the Ashrafieh neighborhood of Syoufi.”

“Consequently, a unit from the brigade and the department raided the said storehouse, in the presence of a patrol from the economy ministry's Consumer Protection Department,” the statement added.

The unit confiscated “large quantities of expired food products, meat and chicken,” it said.

A patrol from the health ministry later arrived on the scene to examine the seized material, according to the statement.
