Contract teachers geared up for demonstration

Contract teachers uphold their protest, demanding to be hired as full-time teachers and to enjoy the same rights as those of the full-timers.

During a press conference on Saturday, contract teachers announced that they will stage a demonstration on Wednesday 28 outside the Education Ministry and a general strike in all education sectors, on the first school day after holidays.

Contract teachers had earlier met with GLC Head Ghassan Ghosn and urged him to back up their movement.

Ghosn, in turn, confirmed his support for their demands, adding that the union is willing to participate in any movement they stage.
