Tyre sees its third blast this month

A bomb explosion rocked a restaurant in Tyre seaside early on Wednesday morning resulting in physical damage.

The estimated 400g TNT bomb exploded at 5:00 am and was placed near the rear wall of the Tyros restaurant on Tyre's Corniche Street, shattered most of Tyros' windows and damaged several eating tables.

Today’s explosion occurred only a few meters away from several pubs targeted in an IED explosion on November 16th.

In this regard, Tyros owner Zuhair Karnakout revealed that 10 days ago his pamphlets promoting for New Year’s Eve event were damaged as the Security forces started their investigations to reveal the perpetrator identity.

Karnakout told LBCI “We will celebrate New Year's Eve in Tyros, we will start fixing the damages caused by the explosion as soon as the Security forces finish the investigation and yes we will definitely be serving alcohol”
