Sidon Sheikh slams Syria monitors, warns against violence

Protesters staged a sit-in on Thursday at the Mosque of Bilal al Rabbah in Abra, east Sidon, under the banner “support for our brothers in Syria, Arsal, Akkar and Wadi Khaled”.

Protesters raised banners decrying the events in these areas.

Sheikh Ahmad Assir, in turn, condemned the Arab committee in Damascus for keeping silence about “the massacres”, speaking out against the Syrian Defense Minister’s statement on Lebanon.

Meanwhile, Assir called on the people to raise awareness and to not slip into strife especially that “we are now in the holiday season for our Christians neighbors with whom we are keen on living in peace and harmony.”
