Are mayors and private generator owners sticking to Energy Ministry pricings?
The Energy Ministry issued a report on Wednesday outlining the subscription fees for the use of private generators for December 2011. Subscribers will be charged 400 LBP per rationing hour for 5 amps of power.

LBCI called the Cesar Abi Khalil, advisor to the minister of energy, to obtain further information on the issue. However, Abi Khalil transferred the call to another advisor who explained that the pricing is the maximum rate and the term “fair value” in the report indicates this point.

It was also reported that the power outage timetable is no longer determined by Electricité du Liban. Outages across the country vary in duration from 6 to 18 hours per day.
