Boko Haram gives Christians 3 days to leave north Nigeria
A purported spokesman for the Nigerian Islamist group Boko Haram threatened to confront soldiers in Nigeria after the president declared an emergency in areas hit by attacks blamed on the militants.

The spokesman threatened Christians living in the predominantly Muslim north.

“We are also giving a three-day ultimatum to the southerners living in the northern part of Nigeria to move away.”

Islamist sect Boko Haram has been blamed for dozens of bombings and shootings in the north, and has claimed responsibility for several bombings in Nigeria this year, including Nigeria's first suicide bombing on the U.N. headquarters in August that killed at least 23 people and the coordinated Christmas attacks that killed 49.
