REPORT: Geagea: If Aoun receives majority of votes, I will be the first to congratulate him

The Lebanese Forces chief Samir Geagea called Wednesday on the head of Change and Reform bloc MP Michel Aoun to attend Thursday’s parliamentary session, noting that if Aoun receives the majority of the votes, he will be the first to congratulate him.

Following his meeting with Patriarch Beshara Boutros Rai in Bkerke, Geagea stressed that boycotting the sessions is not acceptable; stressing that hindering the elections harms the status of the presidency.

In this regard, Geagea said that there is majority of deputies in the Parliament that seeks to amend the Constitution in terms of extending the mandate of President Sleiman.

“We are considering all available options in order to avoid presidential vacuum,” he added.
