Coordination Committee to step up movement

The Trade Union Coordination Committee confirmed on Saturday its adherence to the principles presented to PM Najib Mikati, Labor Minister Charbel Nahhas and the Index Committee.

The committee earlier stressed the need to adopt a percentage increase, salary brackets and the cumulative approach in accordance with the inflation rate since 1996 which has exceeded 100% as well as the need to keep the transportation allowance in the core of the wage.

During an extraordinary meeting on Saturday, the committee called for escalating movements should the cabinet approve any draft law contravening its principles.
