REPORT: ISF unit arrests one suspect involved in the murder of Elias Kfoury

The Internal Security Forces said on Tuesday that it arrested at the Bourj Hospital one of the two men suspected in the murder of citizen Elias Kfoury.

The ISF added that the arrestee is also wanted over theft and drug offenses.

Earlier in the day, Elie Kfoury, was shot dead in a robbery incident executed by two assailants riding a motorcycle near the victim’s shop in Jal el-Dib.

In the details, two assailants riding a motorcycle were attempting to rob a commercial shop at approximately 10:30 am in the area of Jal el-Dib, near the Saint Takla Church, when a man sensed their presence, prompting their hasty escape.

The two randomly opened fire mistakenly injuring 52-year-old Kfoury, who succumbed to the gunshot wounds.

Security forces rushed to the scene and launched an investigation into the incident.

Sources reported that the victim owns a shop for electrical appliances near the crime scene.
