Kids in the mountains enjoy day off as drivers await snowplows
Snow blocked the majority of mountain roads on Thursday as studies were suspended in several schools.

Dahr al-Baidar road was open for the circulation of vehicles equipped with snow chains and four-wheel drive after snowplows cleared the way.

ISF turned away all trucks headed for the Bekaa, fearing the dangers of slippery conditions.

The ISF also blocked the Mdairej-Hammana road where snowplows are clearing the way.

Snow reached the majority of Jurd al Aala- Bhamdoun road where both public and private schools were closed.

As for Metn al Aala, the Jouar al-Houz-Kferslwan-Tarshish road is blocked and snow plows are working on removing the snow. Schools were also closed in the region.

In addition, the Civil Aviation Weather Service warned of ice formation on Friday on mountain roads, at altitudes above 600 meters in the southern region.
