Top judicial appointments not the sole hindrance, Kortbawi says
Justice Minister Shakib Kortbawi said on Friday that “portraying the appointment of a new president to the Higher Judicial Council as the only hindrance to appointments is untrue.”    

Kortbawi added that appointments to many other disputed posts are hindered too.    

“The appointment mechanism agreed upon during the mandate of former PM Saad Hariri excludes security, judicial and diplomatic posts. The mechanism was reached through consensus, not law”, the justice minister confirmed.
