Israel transfers Aziz Al Dweik to administrative detention

The Palestinian Legislative Council Speaker Aziz Al Dweik said on Tuesday that the Israeli authorities informed him that he will be transferred to administrative detention for six months without pressing any charge against him.

The Israeli army arrested Dweik at a check-point near Jerusalem while he was going from Ramallah to Hebron where he lives. Dweik’s attorney Fadi Al Qawasimy had submitted a request for the Ofer military court to release him, and his request was denied.
