Cars pile up after trucks collide on Dahr al-Baidar highway

A tanker truck collided with a tow truck on Dahr al-Baidar road on Saturday. The tanker truck then slid off of the road, finally coming to a stop as it crushed a Mercedes Benz. Yet another vehicle then collided with the halted tanker increasing the number of vehicles involved to four.

The tanker truck was so badly damaged in the series of wrecks that the roof of the truck had to be sawed off by rescuers in order to free the driver who was then rushed to a nearby hospital.

Traffic was severely delayed during the rescue and clean-up operations.
